WEED MAN TRAINING

Our employees are the backbone of the company, since we rely on them to deliver Professional service to our customers. Weed Man has an ongoing employee training program that includes a regular schedule of seminars and information updates on plant health care, safety procedures and customer service. In addition to meeting/exceeding industry regulatory requirements all Weed Man Technicians must demonstrate their knowledge of plant health care, and Weed Man field safety procedures before they can wear the Weed Man uniform.

WEED MAN LICENSING

When registered control products are required/permitted to be used Weed Man Professionals must meet all government licensing requirements. This means being thoroughly trained in agronomy and in the proper procedures for all products used for the maintenance of healthy lawns. Using the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) preventive approach recommended by governments, Weed Man Professionals work with home owners to prevent problems through basic mowing, watering and fertilizing practices that will head off most serious turf grass problems. Products are applied in spot treatments rather than blanket treatments wherever possible. Weed Man Professionals are licensed by provincial government legislation to apply federally registered control products where and when permitted.

Weed Man is perpetually researching different products and technologies to ensure that we stay on the cutting edge with respect to the products and equipment we use.
For over 20 years a large part of our research has involved the testing of various organic and/or pesticide-free alternative products. The 3 most important criteria for all product research are:

• 1. Maximum Efficiency: Our obsession with the highest quality and most effective products remains essential whether we are researching traditional or alternative products.
• 2. Cost Effectiveness: There are some pesticide-free alternative products that provide satisfactory results; but at a prohibitive cost. Our choice to use any product will involve a cost-benefit analysis with our customers' needs top of mind.
• 3. Regulatory Considerations: Some of the alternative products being recommended are not legally registered by the Canadian government for use on residential lawns. Weed Man has always prided itself on not only meeting but exceeding all regulatory requirements. For this reason, we use only those products that are legal to apply to residential lawns.
